Signing and Locking

One way that Buildary can be used is to enter data, print the daily report and sign it on paper. In this case, the construction diary is still kept in paper form. For some users, it can be quite an acceptable way of work.

The main purpose of Buildary is to keep the construction diary in electronic form. The conditions under which this can be achieved are described in the Legislation section and may vary and may vary country by country. This section also explains terms such as a qualified signature and a signature certificate.

Before you start signing, you need to set up the signature. You can access the Signature Settings window by clicking on your user profile icon and selecting „Signature setup“ from the menu.

Before you sign Buildary reports, make sure you have a signature certificate. In some countries, you will need a qualified signature certificate issued by an official certification authority. To sign with a qualified certificate from the web application, you need to install a helper application on your computer. For signing in the mobile app, you need to transfer the certificate to your mobile device and upload it into the Buildary mobile app.

In this window, choose the option that best suits your needs. You can also set the Appearance of the signature in the window. This setting applies to the first three signature options. We recommend using your company's logo as an image, or even a scanned handwritten signature. We recommend the Image + Text option.

Signing with a Buildary certificate is the most convenient method because it requires no preparatory steps and is processed on the server, making it the fastest possible way. This method is suitable for testing the application by new users and for working with diaries that are not governed by construction regulations. When using this signing method, a personal signing certificate is generated for the user on the server.

The signing is performed outside the Buildary application, such as in Adobe Acrobat Reader or PDF-XChange Editor, etc. This method is the most labor-intensive for users among all the signing options offered by Buildary.online.

With this setting, instead of the „Sign“ button, you will see a „Download for Electronic Signature“ button in the application. This will start the download of the PDF file to your computer or mobile device. The actual signing is then performed in an external application such as Acrobat Reader. After signing, you upload the signed file back into Buildary using the „Upload Signed File“ button.

- If you have selected and set up your signature, you can start signing records or the entire day (depending on permissions). Using the button „Sign“, you can sign your record. The underline colour changes to green.

Other users may then sign the protocol by the same procedure as described above. If the signature and upload are not executed within the time limit, then the temporary lock is cancelled. Upload after the limit is declined.
